In many parts of the world, goat is a major source of meat. Goat demand is very strong among many ethnic groups in Syracuse, especially among newly arrived refugees and Latinos. Among some ethnic groups, goat is the primary meat. Among other ethnic communities, goat serves as a celebration meat for special occasions and holidays.
