Hillary has a Masters of Science in Food System Studies from Syracuse University and Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Marketing from Juniata College. Prior to moving to Syracuse, NY in 2014, she completed a year of National Service with AmeriCorps in the Rural Health Service Corps working with the Central New York RC&D/NRCS as a Food Access Facilitator on the CNY Bounty Project. Hillary later went on to work for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chenango County as a Program Educator and Communications & Outreach Coordinator. She has a fervent passion for the human right to food and adequate nutrition, land grant philosophy, racial and social equity, agricultural policy, and sustainability.
