Missouri Gravel Bed Nursery Construction Workshop

  • Saturday, April 16, 2016, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

The April 16 Missouri Gravel Bed Nursery Construction workshop is the first of a two part workshop. The Onondaga Earth Corps will be installing a Missouri Gravel Bed Nursery, in order to prepare trees for summer planting. These workshops are a chance to learn about how Missouri Gravel bed trees help to extend the bare-root tree planting season, and how contractors and tree planting groups can use Missouri Gravel Bed trees in their projects.

The first workshop on April 16 will include training and lecture by Dave Ryan of Rare Earth Nursery, followed by hands-on installation of the nursery beds. 2 CNLP credits and ISA credits will be offered.

The April 30th workshop will discuss the advantage of MGB trees versus standard bare root, demonstrate healing in trees into the MGBs, and hands-on demonstration planting bare root street trees in the adjacent neighborhood. 3 CNLP credits and ISA credits will be offered.
