Onondaga County 4-H Public Presentations and Horse Communications event registration is open! Event will be held on Saturday, March 25th.

This event is comprised of 2 different contests with 2 (slightly) different sets of rules, please register for only one.

Attached is a document that Linda Stopen produced last year to help clarify the two different competitions (it is a document that is evolving with changes at District and State levels).
Our County Level event is meant to encourage youth to develop their public speaking skills. County Level events can be flexible. Our District events are specifically for Juniors and Seniors (generally 8 – 13 and 14 – 19 years of age) to refine their skill in competition. Please note that it is possible to take a horse topic under Public Presentation rules at County Level, and tweak it to compete at District Level Competition, if our County is in need of participants at the District level.
District Level Competitions split into 2 different dates: District Public Presentations will be held on Saturday, April 8th in Oneida County. District Horse Communications will be held on Saturday, April 8th in Oneida.
I will try to accommodate requests as we schedule for the morning of Saturday, March 25th. Please note that the event will be in the Art & Home Center on the NYS Fairgrounds. There are many activities on the NYS Fairgrounds that day and I am unsure about the parking.
