2018 CNY Food Summit

ABOUT THE DAY:

Location: Empire Room, NYS Fairgrounds

Panel 1: 9:30-10:30AM

Food Distribution Models: Panelists will talk about Food Distribution Models that Work and opportunities for the future. Challenges like distribution obstacles, wholesaler needs, accessibility in rural and urban 'food deserts' as well as solutions like food hubs, scaling production, and incentive systems will be discussed.

Panel 2: 10:45-11:45AM

The Brewing Industry: The brewing and distilling industry in Central NY is booming! Panelists will talk about this emerging market, identify obstacles, and potential opportunities in growing ingredients, processing, and sales.

Panel 3: 1:45-2:45PM

Accessing New Markets: Panelists discuss the challenges and connections in new markets. Promotion, processing, farm to institution, farm to school, and having a digital presence will be addressed.

Speed Meeting with Panelists: 3-4PM

Panelists and other experts will be set up at tables. Attendees can meet each area, going to each table for short intervals.

Networking 4-5PM

Open networking time. Take advantage of so many different parts of our local food systems being at the same place! Feel free to bring business cards, look for opportunities to collaborate, and continue the discussion!
