Join us as we replant historic trees in Upper Onondaga Park, Lower Onondaga Park, and Kirk Park. On October 27th from 9am-1pm. We will be planting 79 trees along park roadways in Upper Onondaga Park, Lower Onondaga Park, and Kirk Park; restoring its historic character and following the park’s original designers intent.
This tree planting event is an important component of Onondaga County's Save the Rain program, a comprehensive stormwater management plan intended to reduce pollution moving to Onondaga Lake and its tributaries. At maturity, each tree intercepts over 1,000 gallons of storm water annually. From this planting, our impact on the water shed will be taking up over 80,000 gallons of storm water annually.
