Value-Added Product development workshop focused on food safety, regulatory compliance, and supportive resources for small food manufacturers and value-added food processors.

What does it take to get your value-added product or favorite family recipe from the farm or kitchen to the consumer? Bring your samples of value-added products for testing. Learn about the entire process: from food safety to shelf stability of your product to getting it on a Taste NY shelf!

Food Safety and Value-added processing experts Margie Wilcox, Sherri Card, and Nancy Pfeiffer will explain:

  • Cornell Services and Resources for Small Food Manufacturers
  • Basic Food Safety Information and Practices
  • State and Federal Regulatory Requirements
  • Production Documentation Practices

Allyson Towndrow from the Taste NY Central New York Welcome Center will explain the onboarding process for entrepreneurs to get their products in Taste NY stores. New York State (NYS) Agriculture & Markets representatives will provide information on the NYS Grown & Certified process.
